Flush turn signals or Integrated?
05/26/16 12:57 PM

Has anyone found truly flush front and rear turn signals?
What about moving the turn signals into the headlights and using race fairings front and rear to eliminate the turn signals? Integrated tail lights are easy to find, it would just be a matter of wiring the turn signals into the locator lights/running lights..

The front flushmounts stick out a little at the front edge. I think this is necessary to have a little blinker visibility from the front. The rear flushmounts i have seen are a plate with holes to show the light through and the guy I knew who had the had trouble with them falling apart. That was 8 years ago. Far as I know, race fairings are not equipt to hold headlights and the tail probably does not have a tail light either. The seat will be a hard flat section of plastic that rest right on top of the fuel tank. If you want to get rid of the flashers and still have a comfortable street bike, I think you’ll have to make your own block off plates.

Ive never found a reason to mess with them, its not like how they were on my '03 R1 = big stalks.

or maybe I'm getting cheap in my old age. I don't even want to spend the money on making them smoked. lol. dunno.

In the front, (I don't have the bike so I'm just going off online pics) it looks like a race mid fairing should still attach to the factory upper with the lights in it. But if the flush mounts are at least mostly flush that will probably work..
The tail I haven't really seen any great options. The plate style rear turn signals look weird, but so do the factory ones to me. However turn signals that fall out aren't really an option..
Some of the race bodywork manufacturers will cut tail light holes, but the bodywork comes with no brackets of course so lights usually have to be glued in..
I just like smooth, aerodynamic looks. Oh well, not in a rush to change things too much.

Tail flushmount pics on this thread:

Front flushmounts, click DETAILED IMAGES for installed:

They also make the fronts in clear and probably smoked. I would not hesitate to try the cheap Asian knockoffs sold on ali.express. LP probably sells the same thing and puts their name on it. Up to you, if you want to return, might be cost prohibitive to send back to China. ...but they're so cheap. worth the gamble if you ask me. Aliexpress als has an integrated tail light. Cheap. Read reviews for fitment. This stuff has been out for years and I'm sure they got the fitment down for the gen1 by now. IDK if that holds true for the gen2.

I'm still not sure about whether it's best to go all smoked or go clear with nightshades applied. I'm thinking all smoked. Might not be a perfect match between all but you'd prolly not notice. Could give some a fast shot of Nightshades to even up the tint if there's a noticeable variation.

Thanks for the info. Blinkers are about the only mod I can afford at this point. I hope the gen 2 blinkers fit well.

Running Light Signals
Smooth Tail
I was thinking that using an integrated front and rear light would be really unique. Those flush rear signals aren't available anymore it seems, only one place has them for $220 and they are in passion red.
